Why Heat Pumps Matter

By combining cooling and heating capabilities, lower operating costs, and emissions reductions, heat pumps address the intersecting challenges of extreme weather events, energy affordability, and climate targets — making them a practical solution for cities like Vancouver that aim to protect vulnerable residents and meet climate commitments.

About Urban Climate Leadership, a project of MakeWay: we work with local governments and partners across Canada to dismantle obstacles and accelerate equitable climate action. Our focus: facilitating collaborative solutions, and championing a just, healthy, safe and resilient future for all.
