Residents living in low-rise multi-unit residential buildings (MURBs) in British Columbia want access to safe, effective and affordable heating and cooling. Low-carbon heat pumps promise lower emissions, greater energy efficiency, and a technological fix to effective heating and cooling. But designing and implementing viable, affordable, and simple solutions to transitioning to heat pumps in low-rise MURBs has been complex and time-consuming. This primer sets the stage for a third dialogue on one of the most difficult barriers to overcome - financing and funding.
