New Primer Explores the Role of AI in Cities and Equitable Climate Action

As artificial intelligence (AI) reshapes how cities operate, Urban Climate Leadership (UCL) is launching a conversation on what this means for equitable climate action.

Our new Discussion Primer: AI, Cities, and Equitable Climate Action offers a snapshot of this fast-moving field—highlighting opportunities, raising critical questions, and mapping out the intersection of AI, municipal governance, and climate.

Recognizing that the AI landscape is evolving rapidly, UCL will host a dialogue this June bringing together local government staff, civil society, and private sector leaders. The goal: to name and frame the key challenges and opportunities cities face as AI becomes a central tool in public service and climate response.

Urban Climate Leadership (UCL) is pleased to share with you the following summary report, synthesizing themes from this dialogue.
