A Climate Era Demanding Bold, Integrated Public Leadership

We are living through a climate emergency—one that is reshaping economies, deepening inequality, and challenging the limits of our public institutions. In this context, CleanBC needs to demonstrate how the provincial government can act decisively, equitably, and at scale. To remain globally competitive, relevant, and resilient, and to support British Columbians through the relentless impacts of climate change, requires working horizontally across ministries,  mandates, and other orders of government, bridging longstanding silos, and building the internal capacity needed to lead this complex transition to a new economy.

British Columbia is well positioned to play a role nationally and globally capitalizing on its natural assets, access to critical minerals, clean hydro power, strong local and Indigenous governments, innovative start ups, well-developed labour and social justice movements, and an educated population who care about having access to clean air, clean water, and a strong environment.
